Chemistry II Part 1 measurement

DAY CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES ASSIGNMENT
Wednesday 8/14

1.) Christmas Sled scene and scientific principles!
2.) Question one off Typhoid who Lab

1.) Do question one on the Typhoid handout. Be sure to provide EVIDENCE to support your prediction.
2.) Safety contract, study for safety quiz!
Thursday 8/15

1.) Safety quiz
2.) Do and finish Typhoid Mary lab. (Do not use silver nitrate test use conductivity test, hold their thumb over and mix and each exchange with someone different two people. Check conductivity after each test but do not show them. they need not just exchange around them. Stir after each exchange with wooden stir rod. Use Big test tubes.) (if little class just have them name the other tubes and then be responsible for two tubes. (Do atom map while waiting to get them tested for conductivity)

1.) Finish typhoid Mary: Finish spreading epidemic ( add silver nitrate to each tube and look for reaction. Give them the last results.) Add question 18, Silver nitrate is added, a white precipitate is formed, write a balanced chemical reaction
2.) Be working on your review packet for Monday
Friday 8/16 1.) Do graphing of data and finish tree. Give them the results of all exchanges so they can finish the lab.  Chemistry concepts for epidemic: conductivity, density, optical, solutions, reactions with silver nitrate, etc.
2.) Work on review packet
review packet is due  Monday
Questions on spreading epidemic
Monday 8/19 1.) Go over review packet

Friday 9/13 HOMECOMING
Hand back atom map have the big circles get with the little circles and make sure their scales are correct. It seems to me the larger scale should have the smaller circle. I think they may have it backwards.
